Medical Supply:
Medical supplics were received from the Alnmeda Medical
Depot with ¢ resupply tims of approximately 120 days.
In an uxrgency
situation supplics were obtained in small quantities fraa the USaRPAC
Yedical Depot via MATS.
During the oporatioml] pcriod the modicalsupply scetion
vas called upon to fulfill th unanticipated obligmtion of ‘supplying
the flight lino dispenssry cperated by TG Tol, plus furnishing medical
supplics to off-island weather stations,
In additeon medical supplics
were furnished to the Task Grow 7.3 ships in the arca as necessary
when thoilr own stocks were depleted.
The long reeupply tine from Alermcda Medical Dopot rade
it difficult to provide flexible stock levels of medical supplics to
rect changing demands,
Related to this problem was tho receipt of
many medical items in an unusable condition for reasons of clirate ‘and
prolonged shipping time,
For the samo reasons an attonpt to solva
tho supply r oblen by storing large quantities of supplics vculd bo
wastcful and costly.
a rcquust was made to CJIF SEVEN for authcrity
to draw uncse surplics from USARPAC, but wos disapproved,
