Major Sill was queried concerning the possibility of not evacuating the
Oboe camps for the MAPLE event. The question came up as a result of a
telephone conversation between Cols Pinson and Lucke,
Sill states
that there is no intention at present of UCRL evacuating the Oboe camp
for MAPLE, The blast and thermal values are predicted to be negligible
and they will not evacuate the area unless a fallout problem comes up. (B&P)“"* ”

Hawaiian area. Those present were:

Col Jeffrey (JTF SEVEN) reported that Hanger #2 at Hickam Air Force Base
meets all of the 7,1 requirements for space, (Office and Laboratory).
Nose docks and like equipment are available for the WB-36s. Air condi-
tioning for the office and work area will be provided by 7.5 on a rental
basis from local (T.H.) sources,
Barber's Point will be used to support the PVs and will further provide
limited office space for our use, Arrangements are being made to provide
EG&G photo with support at that location also.
JTF SEVEN will make arrangements with the Coast Guard for Project 3l.4s
use of French Frigate Shoals for their Micro~Barograph instruments,
JTF SEVEN will also make arrangements with the CAA and T. H. Park Service
for use of 2 suitable site on Maui for Project 6.6s radar installation,
For the units a Hickam Air Force Base, transportation will be furnished
by the Motor Pool rather than checking out vehicles to various projects
in order to provide more effective utilization of the limited number of
vehicles available. (EAL)
