Mr. Bob Woltz

HOLMES & NARVER
P.O. Box 29939

Honolulu, Ha waii,

Dear Mr. Woltz:

May I introduce myself as the new BNL resident physician on Kwajalein,
replacing Dr. Knudson. Having spent the greater part of last year as a
T.T. physician on Ebeye, I am not exactly new to the area; however I am
naturally a complete stranger to the DOE, Nevada and Honolulu interrelationship, the various budgets of our operation, and just who does
what. Therefore please bear with me during this introductory period,
Initially, I should like to inquire into our budget.

Ted Murawski tells

me that we began the November lst fiscal year with $55,000, of which ca.

$4,000 remains. The lion's share of this apparently went for the oute
islands medical trailer refurbishment and also for the recent Survey. Ted
said that he was unable to give me a breakdown of either the exact total
amount already spent, nor of the broad categories involved, and he suggested
that I should write to you for this accounting. Further, would it be too
much to ask to request a monthly statement?

On Tuesday last I mentioned this $55000/,000 figure to Dr. Conard, who felt
that it must be in error, If he has not alresdy contacted you, could you
also submit a copy of the account to him,

One final item is the $10,000/yr. budget promised by Dr. Walter Weysen for
the establishment and operation of a laboratory here on Ebeye, That was
an oral committment, I have not seen it formalized in writing, nor do I
know who handles the money. I would appreciate your looking into this for
me, Thank you,
very t we
Vues, CL
