LEMORANDUM to the Files, Medical Section.
1. In compliance with orders fromthe Commnder of Task Force Cne
(Crossroads), a group of approximately 30-40 officers will be organized.

Fors:al treining of this group will begin on 15 January 1946,
at Clinton inzineer Vork, Oak Ridge, Tennessee. From 15 January - 25
Jenvary preliminery theoretical indoctrinetion in basic physics and
nuclear phisics will be conducted.

Inspection trips throush the loccl plants of

Tennessee bastmen Company will be ide at this time also.

Further brief training, particularly in the biologic aspects
of radiation, will be carried on at the district installations at the
University of Rochester and University of Chicago. In these installations,
animal experiments on inheletion, inrestion and exposure to urenium and
plutonium products, will be amserved and clinical end patholozic meterial
will be studied.
4. 4 short intensive treining program in damage control aboard
ship will be given the grap in Philadelphia by naval officers. This
wall also include an inspection of the Geren cruiser Frinz Eugen at
the Fhiladelpnie bavy Yard.
Farticuler attention will be paid to
safety measures in control of gases aboard snip.
5.
For the above treining (paragraphs 3&4) the entire group wads
be divided in two parts. Group I will be in Fhiladelphie allenmY
