Radiological monitoring of outdoor air both on and offsite from April 15,
1956 thru August 2, 1956 at UCRL Berkeley and UCRL Livermore indicated at no
time fallout of radioactive substances approaching 5 times background (as
defined in our letter NBG-266-56 of Feb. 20, 1956 addressed to C. L. Dunham
AEC, Washington, D.C.)

Monitorrng ofgamma dose levels at 3 feet above an outdoor horizontal surface in-
dicated no long-lived fallout of 5 x background during the peiod April 15, 1956
thru July 16, 1956, although unexplained short term (2h - 46 hour) variations
exceeding this were occasionally observed.
