Fost Qh, Fort iJorden, ijashington, departed for Ggden General Depot,
Ogden, Utah, as liaison officer to expedite procurement of the equipment
and supplies required.
Requisitions for tropical clothing on tarrif
sizes based on needs of six hundred and fifty (650) personnel were
submitted.
Ail unit commanders at this time were faced with the
peculiar problem of predicting as near as possible the correct sizes
in khaki clothing for the proposed strength of their unit, even though
some of the units were only up to fifty (50) percent strength at the
time they were required to submit requisitions.
Requisitions for clothing and non-expendables from Utah Qi Depot
were readily filled, but the expendables required last-minute shipments by commercial carriers, some of these arriving just before the
USS Yancey sailed.
