Radiological Safety - Light-proofing of goggle housings.
1.
‘In accordance with paragraph 3, Section I, Appendix 2 to
Annex J of Field Order Number 1, neutral density 4.5 protective goggles
are being issued to the Task Groups.

The goggles as issued are not light tight because of
ventilation holes in the rubber housings.
In some instances it will
be found that the goggle lenses are dislodged from their rubber sockets.

It is requested that necessary action be taken to insure
that all goggles are made light-proof by:

(a) Covering the ventilation holes with friction, rubber
or adhesive tape.
(b).Cayefully Tithingthe goggle lenses into their rubber
sockets,

Materials used to cover the ventilation holes should be
removed prior to return of the goggles to Task Group 7.6 on completion
of Operation SANDSTONE.
