The program was designed to enable the monitor to adapt the theoretical training received at the radiological safety schools to practical situations. The action of a monitor in the event a group leader working in a contaminated area refused to remove his party upon being warned to do so by the monitor was discussed at a meeting held on 4 March 1948. Commander Gar wed that the monitor, after properly notifying the party leader as to the radiological exposure condition, would leave the area after having received an exposure of 3 roentgens and report the incident inmediately.
