Ee, of the: Universityyf Chicago, and Dr. Alvin C. Graves,
of the AFC, Los Alamos.
It was agreed that the Radiological Safety -
Group under Colone] Qi would measure the gamma radiation versus distance.
It was proposed that MM organize a group to measure the gemmaray spectrum which was of particular interest to the scientists at Los
Alemos.
Although the AEC expressed little interest in additional pro-
jects, the Scientific Director agreed to consider these particular projects provided the AFSWP could furnish necessary personnel to carry them out.
At Colone] SEM suggestion the AFSWP therefore took steps to
camiy
contact (imme, National Bureau of Steniards to see if he
would undertake the measurement of the gamma intensity versus time.
A
meeting was held with Syyyyiy, BEE, Sees, Colonel
GUs oni WOPMe to discuss this project on the following day.
REE agreed to look into the possibilities and submit a program
as soon as possible.

Attempts were also made to have some of the other
projects carried out by various service groups.
On 14 October 1947 Qe
QM. submitted a suggested method of measuring the gamma intensity
versus time.
Unfortunately QMMMBstdid not have available sufficient
information as to the intensities to be measured so that the problem
appeared more difficult than was warranted.
On 17 October 1947 Rete provosal was forwarc.4 to Qaim
with a revised’ p¥ézPim'for all nuclear radiation measurements.
