TECHNICAL MEASUREMENTS
Introduction of Projects.
As a result of analysis made on CROSSROADS technical information
and attempts to apply these data to vractical situations it was indicated
that much additional information was needed to adequately prepare for
defense against atomic bomb attacks.
On 8 Sentember 1947 GweMR. , and Major Wk
qs... CmlC, USA, made e rough outline of a program of measurements
which would be desirable in any future tests.
These were discussed by
Captain (MR and Dr. Qa with Captain Sam. USN, of
the AEC, ani later with Admiral 9yggies ani Captain Gaemiee , USN.
Captain gga, with the approval of Aimire] @igum, suggested that Dr.
@@iibe be made available to work on planning for hpe-forthcoming tests.
Arrangements were made to submit a smooth copy of this program and dis-
cuss it with DEEN of Los Alamgs.on.the following day.
On, 9 September 1947 the program was submitted to Tze and
discussed at a meetingat which Siem, Captain SM, Captain
gp ,, CEE. 2) Majo QED wore present.
