Clarkson Commander, Joint Task Force 7 Washington 25, De Ce Dear General Clarkson: Daring Operation CASTLE, we are planning a program of radiological monitoring of the Pacific Islands which will be similar in scope to the survey we conducted during IVY. Mr. Merril. EIsenbud, who will again supervise this program, has recently conferred at Pearl ‘arbor with members of the CINCPAC staff. The attached report of his visit summarizes our present thinking as regards the scone and method of implementation of the CASTLE survey. As was true during IVY, the success of this program will depend on effeetive liaison with your Comaand. I% is also desirable that the support which you so effectively extended our srogram during IVY again be available to us. I will anoreciate your designating a senior member of your staff ° to serve as liaison officer for our orogram ef with him is desirable. 3 23 be 1289s ae (333.028 oni oF Eos Fle 32595832 Sle]s So2 2985 ENTRY Cy Author: w a oS din asap BAS BRA al bo 95 8a88 Fiat USS .
