Alpen as both Director of the Donner Laboratory, and Directorof the Biology and Medicine Division. Inciuded is documentation of Aipen’s involvement in various professional activities and committees, and his participation in numerous professional conferences. Also represented are legal proceedings involving Dr. Alpen (Goodmanvs. Regents, UC Nuclear Weapons Lab Conversion Project vs. Regents) and a chronicling of Dr. J.A. Linfoot’s dismissal for insubordination. Records consist of correspondence, group progress reports, project proposals, drafts, papers, manuscript reviews, travel vouchers and arrangements, space planning, and requests for funding. Also present are correspondenceand travel records for Dr. Thomas L. Hayesin his capacity as Acting Division Head of the Biology and Medicine Division, and Acting Director of the Donner Laboratory.
