A major weakness in the DOE-1982 dose calculations was th
small number of samples on which it was often based (URCL-5285 , Pt,
1).
For example, in the case of Rongelap Atoll the number of
vegetation samples per island were as follows:

To make up for this deficiency, vegetation specific acti
