Curtiss was modified to transport the weapons to be used on that operation. -Since then the size and configuration of the weapons have greatly changed, causing the fittings in Shop 18 to become obsolete. If the USS Curtiss continues to be used for transporting weapons, and weapon components, consideration should be given to modifying hold space in order that it can be utilized more efficiently. - 138 - J35
