Tue to the increased traffic of bus passengers, two (2) additional
passenger busses were put in operation during the first week of August.

In order to conserve water, a four thousand (4,000) gallon weter
tank trailer was put into operation to haul well water from near the
main pier to the laundiy.

This operetion was temporarily discontinued

during the week 17-23 August due to loan of trailer to T% 182.1.
A record of operations for the Motor Transportation Section is
included in Section V of this report.

‘The Naval detachment received six (6)

aéiitional LOM's for operation by TG 132.3,

The advance unit of 1% 132.3 boat pool, consisting of one (1) offi-

cer and twenty-one (21) enlisted nen, arrived 14 July 1952 and were
trained and indoctrinated in local conditions.

These personnel were

returned to parent unit, USS Oakhill LSD-7, upon ite arrival 1 August
1952,

A unit of underwater detection (UDU), consisting of one (1) officer

and ten (10) enlisted men, arrived 14 July 1952 and commenced installing
undervater detection gear.

The AVE Crash Boat #20987 poterred to in previous inetal Inent was

delivered to Eolmes & Narver for repairs. The remaining AVR (#77479)
continued in ‘operetion during the report period.
The USS Oakhill serviced three (3) of the LCM's during the period.

4n engine (#5152825-R) wae salvaged from an LCM beached on David,
overhauled and put into running condition.
