Processing of NAC and “Q" clearance applications was on a
currentbasis only during the report periods

The large muber of

applications forwarded in the Wovexber - January period resulted in
an influx of finsl clesrances of both types during Maroh and April.
Personnel of the 373rd Port Bn, the Slith Port Co, and the

4th Truck Co had all been prosessed for olearanse prior to departure
from the 2I. The Bllth had processed all persomel for “Q” clearances,
but ao decision that swh clearances needed for but five hatch seotions
and some adainistracive personnel meant the reprocessing of 38 enlisted

men for HAS clearances. These applicaticns were being prepared by the
end of the report period.
Ia April, the Se% gestion set up a card file system for all

xilitary personnel, containing ali pertinent and eurrent seourity
datas
