ell On 19 October 1952 the CJTF 132 published an Operational Directive Number 1 (Mike Event) which was followed by Operational Directive Number 2 (MX Rehearsal) on 22 October 1952. The Task Group was given to understand that these two (2) directives were the final Task Force direct= ives which would be issued before Mike event. In implementation of evacuation procedures CTG 132.2 issued 2 TG Operational Directive Number 1 on 24 October 1952 which emphezied the critical items of CIG 132.2 Operation Order Number 2~52 pertaining to the dike Shot and supplemented and enmplifed the evacuation instructions contained in Annex H, Evacuation and Annex L, Radiological Sefety. The key to an orderly evacuation was contained in Annex A of the Operational Directive which was a " Chronology of Events end Check List! In order to provide a check on the procedures prescribed for unit . evacuation a letter of instructions concering an MEvecuation Rehearsal", was distributed on 24 October’ 1952. This letter was in implementation of. CIF 132 Operational Directive Number 2 concernig an evacuation rehearsal. Included in the Pehearsel was a test of procedures by an actuel evacuation . of representative groups of the following Task Group Elements: ‘m2bth AU hth T Truck Co, 516th UP Sve Co, end TE 132.4.Ll. To further “insure” a 7 readiness for evecuation 8 ‘roll call ‘oration was prescribed and ald task. ss To 2 Force Elements on Eniwetok Island held a formetion to check morning report — strength figures. On 25 October all Task Force ‘elenents executed the practice evecuation “end held the prescribed roll call formation.
