l. Security Planning and Activities
During this report period the final plans for badge control and travel
control were put into effect,
Numerous incidents were encountered where
the lack of knowledce by personnel of the various elements relative to the
details of the badge and control system resulted in delays in reaching
their ultimate destinations, therefore shortening tempers.
These problems
were solved through:coordination with the AEC, the Provost Marshal and
the S-2 Section, TG 132.2.

The Military Police units stationed on the various islands of the
atoll performed their security duties in a superior manner during this
period and concluded their mission on M-Day.
Aerial securs+y patrols continued to be flown at the rate of four (4)
per week,
During this period, the effectiveness of the ground security
sweeps was increased by utilization of Aray, Navy and Air Force Helicopters.
In accordance with CINCPAG Serial 020, the contraband ‘collected during.
_the previous periods was returned, to the owners in compliance with inst-

ructions received from the AC of S, J=2, STF 132, and was nailed to the US. ~”
Through this” procedure the responsibility for control ef these itens was
ae
eliminated, iowever, the. basic contraband problem still exists due to non=
conpliance with CINCPAC Serial 020 by personnel of all Task Elements. In’
future operations it is recommended that the contents of CINCPAC Serial
020 be firmly breught to the attention of all personnel of the Task Force.
