Responsibilities of Task Group 152,28 are limited largely to the
falend of Iniwetok,
Operations on all other inlands remain under the
Airect control ef the Atomie Inergy Comission except for certain
functions assigned to the Atoll Comanter, such as port operations,
security, and air transportation,
Deecntamination of the atoll was initiated by Task Group 5.1 of
JTH-S as an integral portion of its operation plan for GREZNOUSE,.
Badlological surveillance md activities in connection therewith
reverted to the AEC with the departure of this unit from the forvard
area.
Before the end of the reporting period, the amount of radiation
encountered on all but four islands of the atoll had diminished * a
degree which no longer constituted a danger factor, Observations i
made in areas established on Eniwetok during Operation GREXEEOUSE for
decontamination purposes were negligible,
