Briefing on FY62 budget amendments, 7 February 1961: This briefing for the Commissioners presented the proposed amendments for the FY62 budget, and, for weapons testing, it was said ''a resumption of full scale weapons developments tests would require additional funds in the order of 40 to 60 million dollars for each series of tests. Laboratory experiments had been budgeted at 6.5 million in FY62 with 18 million dollars designated for Project Vela Tests. Meeting #1696, 8 February 1961: Discussion of proposed amendments to the FY62 budget continued with some of the following extracts: 'Mr. Burrows discussed the 15 million dollar request for weapons production and stressed the increase was justified by a recent review of the readiness aspects of the weapons stockpile.
