Heavy Water
After discussion, the Commission:
Approved the recommendation of AEC 274/33,
During the above discussion, the Commissioners considered
the possibility that an appropriate press release might be issued
to emphasize the difference between the Trail price of heavy water
and the price at which the U. S. would sell heavy water for foreign
use under the Atoms for eace program, However, in view of the
option which Canada has to the Trail plant, it was decided that no
press release could be issued now, but that if Canada declined to
exercise the option, further consideration would be given to
making a press release,

Press Release on Project TROLL
Mr, Brown discussed with the Commission the reasons that
: ade a press release on Project TROLL desirable. Mr, Boss
veviewed briefly the most recent data which had arrived trom the
TROLLexpedition, The Commissionersdiscussed the press
release, and the Chairman asked that the release be submitted to
the OCB.
