PROGRAM: Eniwetok Survey Activities. PROGRAM OBJECTIVES: By AEC Headquarters direction NV was assigned the responsibility for a study which will define the probable life style pattern(s) of the Eniwetokese people subsequent to their return to Eniwetok Atoll. This information, in conjunction with the Enjwetok Radiological Survey Renert currently being comoi led, will be used in the dose assessment analyses and in the development of Division of Operaticnal safety, AEC Headquarters, (DOS) recommendations regarding cleanup activities. The information will also be available to the U. S. Department of the Interior (DOI) and the Department of Defense (Defense Nuclear Agency) DOD/DNA for support of their cleanup and rehabilitetion planning activities. To fulfill this assignment NV obtained the concurrence of the District Administrator (DISTAD}) of the Marshall Islands and an invitation from the Ujelang Magistrate to visit Ujelang Atoll jointly with a Holmes aod Narver team who under contract with the Trust Territory of the Pacific Islands (TTPI), DISTAD of the Marshall Islands, are working directly with the Eniwetokese on all resettlement planning. III. IDENTIFICATION OF TASKS: The living patterns and dietary considerations of significance will be determined by obtaining direct input data from the Eniwetokese people residing at Ujelang.
