pursuant. to Section 3 of Article 6 of Srusteeship Agreement between the
United States am: the United Nations; and
WHEREAS, Li is the primary responsibility of the United States
government to protect the health of the inhabitants of the Trust

Yerritory; now therefore,
IT IS RESOLVED that the United States government, with the
participation of the United Nations, immediately embark upon a radiological
survey of those waters and land areas in the Marshall Islands, north of
latitude 8 degrees North, including all of Namu Atoll, to determine

the levels of radioactivity in that area; to determine whether or not

there are new cases of contamination among the residents of that area;

and to identify those physical disorders in the residents of that area,

13

which may be attributable to the radiological contanination of the
environment caused by the nuclear explosions on Bikini ard Enewetak.
IT IS FURTHER RESOLVED that complete copies of the Findings,
conclusions and recommendations resulting fram such survey or surveys,
be delivered to the government of the Marshall Telands, promptly upon

their determination.

TT IS FURTHER RESOLVED that certified copies of this Pesolution
be sent to the President of the Unitecl States; the Trusteeship Council
of the United Nations; the High Commissioner of the Trust Territory of

the Pacific Islands; and the Secretary of the Interior of the United
States.
