First, I should tell you that Dr. Knudsen is voluntarily accepting another position here at Brookhaven and will be leaving the islands by January. We are very sorry about his leaving since he is a good doctor and he and his wife, Liv, have tried to help the Rongelap and Utirik people as much as they could, I hope the people of Utirik will ask Dr. Knudsen to return. If you/do he will be willing to visit your island for examinations in September and December. In the meantime we are interviewing physicians who may be able to take over his responsibilities.
