Z July 1969 Dr. C. L. Dunhan, Chairman Division of Medical Sciences National Academy of Sciences 2101 Constitution Avenue Washington, D. C. 20418 Dear Chuck, Bob Conard tells me that you and Dr. Darling would like to have him spend about one month in Japan during this fall. I would be pleased to have Dr. Conard take the time to visit the Atomic Bomb Casualty Commission at Hiroshima. However, such a trip would take nearly three-quarters of the Department's foreign travel aléotment. I have no objection to spending the Department's funds for this travel providing the Atomic Energy Commission will authorize the travel expenses in addition to our present allotment.
