arrangements for the procurement of artificial limbs. The Island
Trading Company (ITC)also sold eve glasses for approximatelyfifty
cents a pair.
Dental treatment other than that of an emergency nature was possible after the employment of civilian dentists. A programof sodium
fluoride dental treatment was begun for the school children and gave
promise of improving oral hygiene and eventually reducing the
amount of dentistry. No prosthetic work was done until the civilian
dentists were in the field.
