RETIREMENT OF ADMIRAL RADFORD AS CHAIRMAN, JOINT CHIEFS OF STAFF The National Security Council: Noted the President's approval of the following statement with respect to the forthcoming retirement of Admiral Radford as Chairman, Joint Chiefs of Staff: "As Chairman of the Joint Chiefs of Staff since August 1953, Admiral Arthur W. Radford has attended 141 Meetings of the Netional Security Council. The breadth of his intellectual gresp, his camprehensive military kmowledge, and his constant appreciation of all the factors which mst be integrated in formulating national security policy, gave to his military advice to the Council a rare and valued quality.
