sincerely for your June seventh letter, co-
signed by seven of your colleagues, urging
him to " place fhis) {uli official and personal
weight” behind five specific measures which
relate to atomic warfare and heaith hazards
and to the character of our armed forces.
The President asked me to assure you that he
will continue his efforts to deal effectively
with each of the problems mentioned. He, of
course, welcomes the close attention you and
your colleagues have devoted to these crucial
problems facing our country.
