At 1:35 p.m. the session on Weapons Matters was resumed with’ the
same attendance,
In response to a question by the Chairman as to what would happen
if no further tests could be held, Dr. Mark said that the 3,000 pound
thermonuclear weapon would cause concern until and unless tested.
Dr,
York agreed and also pointed out that in the development of very small
weapons, more tests may be needed therefore than for large weapons.
Dr, York gave a brief summary of the present and tentatively proLivermore
Program
posed program at Livermore.
He said that the development of a 3, 000 pound
thermonuclear weapon was the goal but that they would be looking at a
