HARDTACK TEST PROGRAM
DOD effects tests - The Department of Defense will fire five
weapons effects shots.
Three of these are high altitudes
tests to determine detonation phenomena connected with
missile and counter-missile design.
Two of the three,
each of 3.8 MT yield, will be carried to altitude by a
Redstone missile, while the third of only 2 KT will be
carried aloft by a balloon,
five are low-~yield,
