It was planned to portray the vartius
facets of the operation
in both black and white and color photograph as separate documenta~
films. For the purpose of cataloging? cowfling md editing the work
printsj the section designated as Fi.rtiMotion Picture Unit Detachment
was set up in the Los Angeles area. This unit consisted of both militaxy
and civilian personnel fran the Air Force First Motion Picture Unit, an
organizationassigned to the 311th Air Division, Reconnaissance. Here,
the various films discussed in paragraph six reached their final form.
15. Security of photographic products was a matter of concern from
the inception of planrdng. It was earQ decided that the photographic
organizationwould not be charged with special security responsibilities,
but that these would be controlled by the Security Officer, J-2, Joint
Task Force Seven. An elaborate, and at times, cumbersome, security
program was laid out for the handling of all photographicpx%xiucts.
This pragram was followed to the letter thzwughout the entire operation. One or two mhor modifications, such as the processing of films
by Udey and Sweeney aboard the USS Curtiss and the handling of the
film of the FitzwilliamGroup were made, but these did not modify the
spirit of the basic plan.

CONCLUSIONS: The basic requirementsfor photography as lati
down by the various services were met, thus it may be concluded that
the hitial planning was sound. It should be noted that the original
