Evelyn Craighead - Volunteer No.

Evelyn Craighead entered training on June 25, 1975 at Majuro, the
Marshalls and completed an intensive seven-week program.
Included
among the subjects studied were Marshallese language, Culture, and
the Education system/materials in the Marshalls.
Evelyn was enrolled as a Peace Corps Volunteer on August 17, 1975.
She was responsible to the Department of Education during her service
in the Marshalls.
Evelyn served as a classroom teacher assigned to
Ronglap elementary school, where she was one of 4 faculty members.
The school offered 8 grades of study and had an enrollment of
approximately 60 pupils.
Evelyn reported directly to the Principal
of the school, Mr. Isao Eklaing, and she was responsible for teaching
TESL to the 6th, 7th, and 8th grades during her first year and
