Again, vhen the firet undadged trensient personnel

began erriving at Biking siretrip they were placed under restraint,
f{aterregated, and finally eecorted, under guard, to the doat landing.

Thie situation was resolved by mitual agreesent between the

headquarters concerned that transient naval persencel travelling
under orders, bat without badges, wuld as a routine satter be

escorted between Mkini airstrip and the boat landing without being
viewed vith suspicion.

These latter were USS SHEA, USS RECLAINER,

LS¥ 1157, Sxploeive Ordnance Disposal Unit One (RODU-1), and a detach

ment of Faval Beach Group One.

All were ortered to particirate ia
