It had been anticipated that the Task Porce roll-up would
Feyuire the presence of several task croup ships for a cosiderable
period after the final chot. However the delays in getting off the
shote, the early abandonment eni roll-up of shore based activities
at Bikin’, and the looztion of the last shot at Eniwetok sgoll all
combined to redace and in effect practically eliminate this require ‘
ment,
The bese at ininren Island, Bikini, wae rolled-up before the
third shot.
Equipment on the other Bikini ielanis wes removed ef the
eperation progressed ami it wes no longer needed there, until there
was very little rall-ap left to acoomilch after YANKEE.
When the
task growp headquarters moved to Eninetck for the last shot, BAIRO,
BELLE GROVE and AINSWORTH remeined behind to support the final rollWp, assisted by cther task cronp units.
Before the weather permitted
NECTAR to be fired the Midal roll-up was substantially complete, with
the Bost Fool staniing hy te be loeded aboard BXLLE GOVE,
