The platform was enlarged from its original size of 40 x 40-ft. The simulator site is approximately 800-ft. south of the diagnostic aircraft parking area. An electromagnetic clear zone and unobstructed line-of-sight is maintained from the site to the aircraft. The EG&G simulator components.are housed in an 8 x 1Z-ft. shed 8-ft. high. The Sandia facilities are located in the 8 1/2 x 34-ft.. trailer, designated A-1, which is shipped to Hickam from Kirtland AFB when required for exercises.
